Você já parou para pensar por que come demais? Ou por que mesmo sabendo que aquele chocolate diário vai te engordar, mesmo assim não resiste e come a barra toda? Ou ainda por que tem tanta falta de motivação para praticar atividade física?
Pois é… são tantos os questionamentos que nos fazemos quando buscamos o emagrecimento e ficamos naquele vai e vem do efeito sanfona… ou pior, engordamos mais e mais!
A primeira coisa que tenho a dizer a você é: não se culpe. Vou te explicar agora o porquê que esses comportamentos se repetem e assim você vai poder vibrar na aceitação dessas questões e agir para mudar ao invés de se lamentar, reclamar, se culpar, sentir autopiedade ou pior, desistir de emagrecer! Isso nem pensar!!!
Nós somos seres emocionais e nossas decisões são tomadas com base em nossas emoções e sentimentos. Sendo assim, qualquer decisão de comer ou não um alimento, ir ou não fazer exercício, fazer ou não a dieta da nutricionista ou qualquer outro comportamento, sempre é decorrente de uma emoção.
A emoção nos desgoverna, mas também nos dá impulso de fazer algo positivo ou negativo. A primeira coisa que temos que entender é que todas as alterações de comportamento estão guardadas em nosso sistema emocional, em forma de memórias, principalmente numa estrutura cerebral chamada de hipocampo e também numa outra chamada amígdala, bem no centro do cérebro. Essas representações de memórias armazenadas, nos faz seguir determinado comportamento de forma automática, e cada vez que surge uma situação ou representação parecida com aquela armazenada, esta faz com que realizemos esse comportamento novamente de forma a poupar o cérebro de gastar energia.
Aliás, o cérebro é campeão em economizar energia no nosso organismo, por isso ele repete comportamentos. Exemplo: sinto ansiedade e vou direto para o chocolate ou um refrigerante em busca daquela sensação de prazer. Por isso é importante descobrir qual emoção está ligada a um comportamento alimentar. O nosso sistema nervoso central tem que ser educado de forma a perceber as diferenças do meio para que não empilhe comportamentos que podem se transformar em vícios.
É preciso dar a nosso sistema emocional novas memórias, e desenvolver a consciência emocional no ato de comer. Devemos implantar em nosso cérebro uma nova imagem, na qual desejamos, junto de uma nova emoção. A isso chamamos de neuroassociação, que pode ser construída através de técnicas de reprogramação mental utilizadas no coaching.
É importante dissociar esses comportamento da emoção gerada, pois a mudança deve se dar a nível inconsciente, ou seja ela acontece de dentro para fora. Por isso que é difícil seguir dietas restritivas a longo prazo, porque as mudanças emocionais gravadas no seu inconsciente não foram ativadas.
Depois que investigamos essas representações emocionais, é que damos o próximo passo: as mudanças comportamentais. O coach é fundamental nesse processo, pois ele está munido de ferramentas e técnicas para atingir o domínio cognitivo (localizado no neocórtex frontal) e conseqüentemente mudar comportamentos.
Quando o cliente entende de onde vêm essas emoções, quais eventos estão relacionados a comportamentos obesogênicos já é meio caminho para mudar um hábito. Um hábito é um comportamento neuroassociativo que está no inconsciente competente, o sistema límbico, que recebe todas as informações do neocórtex (consciente e cognitivo), que por sua vez leva até o hipocampo que então os transforma em comportamentos emocionais. Por isso sentimos, por exemplo, aquela fome emocional e não fisiológica.
O meu objetivo não é que entenda o funcionamento cerebral, nem guardar nomes técnicos e sim que compreenda que por trás de comportamentos alimentares obesogênicos existe uma conexão neurológica orquestrada em prol do ganho de peso. Convido-o a refletir a partir de agora nas emoções que vêm em sua mente no ato de comer. Mas como podemos mudar os hábitos? Isso é assunto para o nosso próximo artigo.
