Depois de ter tantos animais de estimação, comecei a perceber como eles podem nos ensinar, se paramos para observá-los melhor. Por isso, vou contar a você como um deles me ensinou sobre persistência.
Hoje com cinco anos, Mike é um cachorro vira-lata das raças pinscher e dashmond. Desde muito cedo, ele se destacou pela inteligência e astúcia. Enquanto filhote e único macho, foi permitido seu acesso dentro de casa.
Pois bem, Mike tem uma companheira e iniciaram sua prole com Guga. Quando Guga era filhote, Mike nem chegava perto dele, só que Guga começou a crescer… Assim, começaram as disputas para saber quem seria o macho alfa e as marcações de território tiveram início: xixi para todo lado da casa.
Onde um fazia o outro ia lá e fazia por cima. Resultado: ambos foram proibidos de ficar dentro de casa. Aí que Mike começou a me ensinar sobre persistência. Ao proibi-lo, ele começou a entrar em casa sem permissão. Quem tem cachorro sabe, grade aberta é convite na certa.
Dessa maneira, começamos a operação “Mike do lado de fora”. Inicialmente, fechamos a grade, então, ele passou a entrar pelo espaço entre um ferro e outro, se espremia todo, mas conseguia.
Tirávamos ele e quando menos esperávamos, ele vinha novamente. Então, pusemos uma tábua atravessada. Mas ela só durou o tempo que ele aprendeu a pular por cima dela.
Por muito tempo, fazia barulho ao passar pela tábua, mas se aperfeiçoou e desenvolveu a técnica de entrar como um ninja… silenciosamente e nunca à vista. Quando alguém percebia que ele entrou, já fazia muito tempo que estava embaixo da cama, se fazendo de estátua.
Mais uma tentativa para deixá-lo fora. Colocamos uma tela, mas ele abriu um espaço que só ele poderia passar. As maiores barreiras que temos em casa foram utilizadas: moto, cadeiras; tudo que podia ser um empecilho. Mas, ele continuava determinado. Não desistiu nunca, estava sempre buscando uma forma de entrar na casa.
Isso tudo me fez refletir. Como seria uma vida em boa parte das pessoas fossem persistentes com seus sonhos, objetivos e desafios, como Mike é para entrar em casa? Como seria se sempre que aparecesse uma barreira, uma dificuldade, nós pensássemos em diversas maneiras de conquistar o que queremos, sempre mantendo essa vontade de vitória dentro de nós? Quanta alegria iríamos sentir com o sucesso, mesmo que ele viesse de pequenas coisas! Possivelmente estaríamos sempre olhando o copo meio cheio.
Mike não se sente um fracassado toda vez que é posto para fora. É verdade que ele não sai satisfeito, contudo, tenho certeza que se quiser e tiver nova oportunidade, vai tentar entrar de novo… e de novo.
O meu desejo, diante dessa lição que tirei de uma experiência, é que possamos manter sempre a vontade de persistir dentro de nós. Mesmo diante das barreiras que serão impostas, vez ou outra, em nossas vidas. Que busquemos sempre uma alternativa diferente para termos resultados opostos. Que essa chama que nos impulsiona para frente nunca se apague e, se apagar, que possamos ir atrás de novas formas de acendê-la sempre.
